Creating a Digital Unit Plan
In this assignment, you will create a digital unit plan for a subject you will eventually teach and organize it on a Google Site for your future classroom. Your unit plan will not be comprehensive by any means, but it will get you started. And it will be rich in the use of digital resources to support teaching and learning!
What is really critical is that you find a great topic for your unit. To do this, you'll want to be sure that your topic fits into the Content Standards for your subject. And it should lend itself to the use of technology.
The development of your unit plan site will be supported by the Intel Essentials Modules. You will need the CD to complete these assignments. Pick up your free CD from Cindy Davis (cdavis@fullerton.edu) in College Park 600.

This pathway will allow you to use your Fullerton email as your log-in.There are many resources to help you learn how to use Google Sites. Start with the resources at Google Sites Help (see also the left-side navigation menu). The videos will provide step-by-step instructions.
This site is an example of a Unit Plan created by a former EDSC 304 student. This is a good plan to view as it demonstrates all the requirements and expectations of the Unit Plan assignment. I suggest referring back to this site often if you are befuddled as to what to do.
This site is set up for students as the primary viewers. Lesson plans are NOT included, but student support materials are. Ideally, this site could be used in the classroom, especially in 1-to-1 computer classrooms, where students are working in a digital learning environment.
If you choose this format, you will also have to have a page where you add the teacher lesson plans.
